Scott Simon wrote recently in the Wall Street Journal of the curious and graft-ridden journey of the charming Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich, who is expected to resign on Monday.
"Among U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald's bill of particulars is the charge that Gov. Blagojevich sought to rescind a state payment of $8 million to Children's Memorial Hospital if their CEO failed to organize a $50,000 contribution to the governor."
I fully agree with Mr. Simon - there are many terrible things being uncovered about Blagojevich - this ranks as one of the absolute worst.
Can't wait to hear that he's out of office. I hope the good citizens of Illinois stop tolerating corruption - they deserve better.
